Bare Root Plumeria

When you receive a bare root plumeria it is important to plant it immediately.

Re-potting a Bare Root Plumeria:
  • Carefully unwrap the roots from the packaging (for example damp moss in a plastic baggie). The roots are VERY fragile so be careful.
  • If the roots are tightly balled, slightly trim the ends roots so they are more like to grow out into the new soil than into a ball.
  • Spray the roots with a diluted SuperThrive solution.
  • Pot in good draining potting soil.
  • Leave the plant in the shade for about a week while it acclimates to its new surroundings.
  • Place the pot in a warm sunny location and get ready to watch it grow. In cooler locations, warming the bottom of the pot with a heating pad will promote root development.
  • Water plumeria plants once a week or when the soil becomes dry.
  • For the first year, use a good general-purpose fertilizer, like Miracle-Gro or Bill's. Your primary goal should be developing healthy roots and NOT about flowers.
